Step 4- Grading Policies
1- OLS Progress Requirements
- The curriculum for each class is organized into lessons and units.
- Your teacher will send you the Standards Map so you know how many lessons you need to complete each day.
- For reference, the standards Map for every class is located on the UTVA Middle School Website.
2- Teacher Graded/Work Sample Requirements
- Most of the work your student completes, will only be seen by the learning coach. Teachers want to see samples of student work to ensure the learning objectives are being met.
- Each month you will turn in one work sample in each of the four content areas: Language Arts, Math, Science and History.
- Your work samples are assigned by the course teacher. You can find general assignment information HERE.
3- Required Assessments
1. PLA at the beginning of the year
2. Unit and Semester Assessments: The percentage that you score on these assessments will be calculated into your grade. This will be transparent through or new grade book ENGRADE.
3. We will have Common Interim Checkpoints 6 times a year.

4- Class Attendance Requirements
Students must attend all class connects. We know they will have to miss one or two occasionally and that is okay! We will have recordings of each class you will be able to watch later.
